Course description
Introduction
If you're a budding entrepreneur with great business ideas, this course will develop your finance, marketing and business skills. You'll attend masterclasses with industry experts, visit local businesses and gain practical insight into an area that interests you on work experience. It's an ideal starting point to go into employment or further study, and you'll leave the course with important professional skills you can use for a range of jobs.
Your studies will be built around running a business. You'll cover units on entrepreneurship, start-ups and developing skills for employment or further study. These include:
Creating your business plan
Market research
Creating a marketing plan
Financial modelling
Preparing and pitching your business plan
The entrepreneurial mindset
The business environment.
Assessment
You'll be assessed through coursework. This is formed of practical activities, research tasks, presentations and written reports. You'll also have the opportunity to take at least one week's work experience.
Next Steps
Use this course to progress onto Business BTEC Level 3, start work, or go onto a business apprenticeship with us.
