Health & Safety Online – Asbestos Awareness Training
Somerset Skills & Learning CIC is pleased to offer a series of online courses which are available for employers who need to train their staff. These short structured courses will enable employers to make the work place safer and meet the legal requirements.
This Asbestos Awareness training programme teaches your employees all they need to know about basic asbestos awareness. The training will look at what asbestos is, where it might be found and what to do in case of accidental disturbance. It also looks at the major diseases that are caused by working with asbestos without adequate protection - asbestosis, pleural thickening, mesothelioma and lung cancer.

Training Course Content
Section 1: What is Asbestos?
This section looks at the 3 major types of asbestos and the 4 major diseases caused by it.
Section 2: Where Is Asbestos Found?
This section gives the delegate a detailed knowledge of where Asbestos and Asbestos products can be found and a brief look at the law to help them understand the requirements of them and others with regards to Asbestos.
Section 3: Emergency Procedures
This sections gives guidance on what to do when an accidental exposure to Asbestos occurs and how to protect themselves and others from the substance.
Test:
This is a multiple choice test that demonstrates that the candidate has gained the knowledge and skills they need to fulfil that job role.
