Course description
Chinese Beginners 2 is an intensive 1-week course of 20 hours aimed at those who have taken Chinese Beginners 1, or who can already use very basic, everyday Chinese and wish to improve their language skills.
The objective of the Chinese Beginners 2 Intensive course is to provide opportunities for students to participate in various interactive activities and role plays to practice key language points. The emphasis is on all four key skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing) and students are expected to undertake homework and consolidation exercises between sessions.
By the end of the course, students should be familiar with using the language to deal with some simple but effective tasks in daily life. The topics for this course include making appointments, asking for directions and places, describing one’s health, talking about talents, abilities and leisure activities.
Duration: 20 hours, one week, Monday 30th July - Friday 3rd August 2018
Mode of Attendance: Monday - Friday 10:00-15:00 (including a 1-hour lunch break)
Method
The course is taught in Chinese and English. Class size is limited to fifteen to allow for close intensive interactive practice.
