Suitability - Who should attend?
If you're considering self-employment or have a business idea, this is the course for you. You don't need to have any previous skills or experience to do this course: it's ideal for beginners to Business Enterprise.
Outcome / Qualification etc.
By the end of the course, you'll know about self employment and what is required. You'll know more about the skills, knowledge and abilities you need to run your own enterprise and be aware of the risks involved in setting up and running a business. There will be lots of time to discuss your ideas and you'll identify any gaps in your own knowledge, preparing a personalised plan to fill those gaps. We'll also give you some useful templates such as a basic bookkeeping spreadsheet and a business plan template.

How much time will it take?
The classroom sessions run for two full days, then, if you've chosen the accredited option, you'll have some coursework to complete, which will be bespoke to your business idea. You can take as long as you like if you choose the distance learning option.
We are offering this course in two ways:
Accredited - You'll work towards a qualification which is accredited through Open College Network (West Midlands Region). Once you have completed your coursework (after the course), you'll receive a certificate to show you have achieved your qualification, which is the Level 2 Award in Business Enterprise.
OR Non-accredited - The content of the course is the same but you won't achieve a qualification. This option is slightly cheaper but the support you receive will be the same. You won't need to complete coursework at home unless you want to. Both options are available in the classroom and via distance learning.
