Course description
Care Level 2 Diploma: This is the recognised qualification for people working in the Health & Social Care sector. You will attend College for three hours a week for 30-39 weeks. The course covers the skills required by a new care assistant or enables a more experienced carer to obtain a qualification. Topics include safeguarding & protection, the responsibilities of a care worker, communication, duty of care, how to handle information, personal development, equality and inclusion, health, safety, wellbeing and person-centred approaches. It will improve youremployment prospects and enable you to work in a variety of Health & Social Care is course starts on the following dates, 10/09/19, 05/11/19, 07/01/20, 25/02/20, 21/04/20 and 02/06/20.Entry requirements: You must be 18 or over. To be able to evidence a Level 1 English qualification or above, as this course requires a good level of English. To have basic ICT skills to complete the electronic portfolio for this course. If your ICT skills are weak, please let us know and we can provide support with this. To have recently completed a minimum of 140 hours of voluntary or paid work experience in a Health & Social Care setting before starting the course. As you will be assessed in the workplace, you are expected to remain in the same Health & Social Care setting (on a voluntary/paid basis) for a minimum of 14 hours per week, for the length of the course. We will obtain a reference from your employer prior to you starting on the course.After successful completion, you may wish to progress on to a Level 3 qualification. Your tutor can help advise on the best options available for you based on your current workplace/career goals.
