Course description
This course is for enthusiastic creative people who want to unlock their potential by trying different art and design specialisms, including fine art, painting, drawing, design, craft, sculpture, textiles, fashion and photography. You will experiment with a variety of different media and styles of art and design to complete exciting projects, including live briefs based in the real world of the creative industries.
We set you a challenge. We show you how to do it, work through your ideas and then you produce the work in the form of a project. This includes all your planning and development work, the actual artwork and some thoughts on how you've done. This is then assessed to either pass, merit or distinction level and then we move on to the next. This pattern is repeated throughout the two years with regular feedback on how you are getting on from your tutors.
If you go on to study a Level 3 Art and Design qualification, you can begin to specialise in an area that takes your interest and aim for a future career in the creative industries.
