Course description
The Introductory Diploma in Business is an ideal programme for school leavers. It is a one-year course, designed to encourage development of the personal skills and qualities needed for work. The programme includes a range of units covering different aspects of working within the business administration sector. Students are also required to improve their English and Maths skills, by studying functional skills related to Business. In addition, students are required to take the Personal and Social Development (PSD) course to help them develop their social, health and employability skills.
Units are assessed through project and assignment work and are based on practical situations or around scenarios. There are no external examinations. There are various trips and activities throughout the programme such as paintballing and Alton Towers. After successfully completing the Level 1 Diploma, and your English and Maths, you can progress to the Level 2 First Extended Certificate in Business, take a qualification at Level 2 in an alternative sector, or apply for a business administration apprenticeship to enter employment.
