Course description
This one-year full-time course is designed for school leavers who are aiming to work in a childcare setting. This qualification encourages an understanding of the knowledge and the skills needed to care for young children. It covers children’s growth, learning and development. There are also units to help with self-development.
You will be assessed by your tutor or assessor using a range of methods. This could include tasks such as designing charts or leaflets, coursework or methods such as oral questioning. The department puts on a range of activities and trips for learners, with a week put aside each term to focus on your personal development, team skills and experience of the wider world beyond where we live and learn. You can progress to a Level 2 course.
