Adobe Illustrator - Saturday Intensive: This intensive introductory course over three Saturdays is designed for those keen to grasp the basics of Adobe's industry-standard vector graphics software Illustrator CC. You will learn how to use Illustrator�s powerful brushes and other tools and effects to create the distinctive flat colour artwork used in comic strips and other illustrative graphics, graphs etc. What will the course cover?
Your course will explore the power and versatility of Illustrator CC in a series of practical exercises designed to build your knowledge and develop confidence in your creative ability to use this industry-standard vector software for design and illustration purposes.
Topics covered include:
- navigate the Illustrator interface
- the Illustrator toolbox
- vector v raster
- creating shapes
- reshaping tools
- free transform (scale, rotate, warp etc)
- scissors and slice
- gradients and perspective
- the pen and pencil tools
- live trace and live paint
- individual project
This course can function as a stand-alone introductory course in Illustrator CC but is also designed to be taken in conjunction with C01641 Adobe Photoshop Saturday Intensive (Introduction) and C01642 Adobe InDesign Saturday Intensive (Introduction) which follow later in the year. Combined, these three courses will give you a good fundamental knowledge of how these programs work together seamlessly to produce fliers, brochures, magazines, logos etc.
Intermediate courses in these three programs will be available subsequently so that you can continue to develop your skills and technical knowledge after completion of the introductory courses.
Course outcomes:
You will learn how to create vector artwork.
You will learn how to design a logo using Adobe Illustrator.
You will learn how to export your designs using the various industry standard vector file formats such as AI, PDF & SVG.

Suitability - Who should attend?
Open to beginners This course will most likely be taught in our Mac suite, so a basic working knowledge of Apple Mac computers would be desirable.
