Suitability - Who should attend?
The SMSTS Refresher course is intended for anyone who has previously passed the full SMSTS course.
The candidate must have already completed a full SMSTS course with certification.

The refresher course helps site managers to:
Improve awareness of recent developments in construction, legislation as well as health, safety, welfare and environmental issues.
Identify measures that will assist the practical implementation of responsibilities established by new legislation and working practices.
Implement new guidance and industry best practice.
Consolidate their understanding of responsibility and accountability for site health, safety, welfare and the environment.
All trainers who provide this course have appropriate experience and training qualifications, allowing them to explain the course content clearly and answer candidates’ questions knowledgably.
The course further gives an overview of the legislative measures in place to permit employees to safeguard themselves and others affected by work activities.

Course delivery details
The course is delivered by one of our fully qualified tutors, who use a variety of theoretical input, including group exercises, discussions and interactive PowerPoint.
Examination: Attainment of the learning outcomes will be assessed by an examination which consists of 25 questions under exam conditions and which lasts 35 minutes. Delegates are permitted to use the Construction Site Safety – The Comprehensive Guide (GE700) publication for the last 15 minutes of the exam.
