Suitability - Who should attend?
All gas industry personnel involved in operational works on the Gas Networks who already hold a SCO Core qualification.
All Candidates to hold an in-date SCO Core (previously SCO 1/2) qualification.
All candidates must have a GL6 update record on their EUSR registration if their current registration is the older version of this course (i.e. SCO 1/2, not the individual SCO Core and SCO PTW modules).
Candidates must have nominations from their Reviewing Manager.
All individuals must possess the skills to perform their role, this includes suitable reading and writing abilities.
For Competent Persons, candidates must have the ability, training, knowledge and experience to supervise and/ or carry out work on a site in a safe manner.
Candidates must have the ability, appropriate training, knowledge and experience to authorise works to be undertaken in a safe and proper manner.
Outcome / Qualification etc.
On completion of this course, delegates will be able to:
Identify the SCO hierarchy of standards, documents and procedures
State the types of safe systems within the risk hierarchy and risk based approach to SCO
Identify the roles and responsibilities of specific individuals within SCO and the importance of communication
Identify how to monitor risk and manage change
State how to manage deviations/emergencies
Identify the requirements of records management, performance review and monitoring, audit and review
Identify SCO competency requirements
Identify SCO EUSR registration requirements
On completion of the course, the candidate will have EUSR registration for five years from the date of assessment.
