Painting and Drawing (Intermediate level)
This class offers students who already have some painting & drawing experience the opportunity to extend to develop their skills, knowledge and approaches through the use of different media in particular OIL PAINTS*. Each terms work is structured around a general theme, for example &'Landscapes real & imagined'. Initial work may include drawing in various media including collage. The balance of painting to drawing varies each term. We also look at the work of other artists through slide shows. There will be frequent opportunities to discuss work and reflect on progress together with the group.

Suitability - Who should attend?
Anyone new to oils is welcome and will receive extra input.

What will I achieve? You will be able given opportunities to re-enforce the basic principles of observational drawing as well as developing a wider range of approaches to gathering and interpreting visual information. The aims of the course are to: Help you develop your skills as a painter through knowledge of materials and approaches. Foster pictorial imagination and thus a more individual vision.

Materials Required: What to bring to the first session:
The first session is always based on drawing. Please bring charcoal, white chalk/conte, pencils, erasers and hairspray/fixative Masking tape or clips
You will be given out a full materials list during the first session.
