Minute Taking Masterclass
A full day training programme that delivers techniques for producing professionally-presented minutes and includes a review and evaluation of minutes that participants are currently producing.

- What are the challenges with producing minutes?
- Examination of participants current practice for creating minutes
- Published agendas and hidden agendas – their effects on meetings and minute taking

- What to include, what to leave out of minutes
- Sections, styles and layouts
- Who is doing what and when
- Headings and numbering
- Useful words for minutes
- Writing in the active rather than passive tense
- Writing concisely, professionally and clearly
- Exercise in re-drafting existing minutes to incorporate learning points
- Practical exercises in taking minutes at scenario-based ‘meetings’
Note – Attendees are required to bring along a set of minutes that they have produced in the past, which will form the basis of an exercise.
If the organisation has an in-house template for the layout of minutes, then this can be incorporated into the content of the course.

- Organisational house styles will be reviewed and compared which participants will have brought along with them.
