Course description

This course is ideal for anyone who is wanting to work within a GP Practice, hospital or any other medical establishment and who wants to quickly learn the terminology that is frequently used. So if you're wanting to become a Medical Secretary, Medical Office Manager or work in a Medical Records Department, knowing the terminology will help you quickly get to grips with the systems.

Through a series of self-paced, comprehensive lessons you'll work through each medical specialism and learn the terminology frequently used within each area. You'll learn how the words are formed and become so familiar with it that it becomes second nature to you.
The course will take you to such a level that you'll also be well placed to go on to achieve AMSPAR Level 2 Award and/or Level 3 Award in Medical Terminology qualification (additional home study is recommended).

- Module 2: Structure of the body, cells tissues, organs and systems.
- Module 3: Orthopaedics.
- Module 4: Cardiology.
- Module 5: The Respiratory System.
- Module 6: Female Reproduction.
- Module 7: Male Reproduction.
- Module 8: Urology.
- Module 9: Gastroenterology.
- Module 10: The Lymphatic System and Immunology.
- Module 11: Dermatology.
- Module 12: Neurology
- Module 13: Psychiatry and Psychology
- Module 14: Ophthalmology and ENT
- Module 15: Prescription and drug abbreviations. Consolidation of terminology covered in the course.
