First Aid at Work Initial Course (FAW)
This initial First Aid at Work course looks at the requirements to provide basic First Aid knowledge within an organisation. Our First Aid at Work Initial Course complies with the current Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 amended October 2009. Successful participants receive certificates, approved by HSE, to show that they are qualified to be First Aiders in the workplace for the next three years.

Who should attend?
Any person who is to be designated as a First Aider at work. All employers in the UK have a legal obligation to make First Aid provision for their employees.
Outcome / Qualification etc.
On completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Provide emergency first aid at work
- Administer first aid to a casualties with: injuries to bones, muscles and joints, including suspected spinal injuries;
- Chest injuries
- Burns and scalds
- Anaphylactic shock
- Eye injuries
- Sudden poisoning
Recognise the presence of major illness and provide appropriate first aid (including heart attack, stroke, epilepsy, asthma, diabetes). />Successful participants will receive an FAIB approved certificate valid for 3 years
