The masterclass in diabetes mellitus will build upon your existing professional and healthcare knowledge to improve the quality of care you are able to deliver to people living with, or at risk of diabetes.
This one-day masterclass will allow you to explore the different types of diabetes and the associated short- and long-term complications. Discussion will be contemporary, with focus given to the ongoing impact of COVID-19 on people living with the condition.
You will focus on footcare, exploring the importance of accurate screening, assessment, referral and the concepts of self-care.
Finally, the impact on diabetes on emotional well-being will enable you to understand the importance of the language we use and how this facilitates motivation to behavioural change.
