Level 3 Certificate in Social Prescribing
The SEG Awards Level 3 Certificate in Social Prescribing is a nationally recognised qualification. It prepares learners for a role in social prescribing and provides those already working in this area with a deeper level of knowledge and understanding.
The content is based on key areas related to social prescribing environments, including delivering community-based solutions, offering vulnerable adults holistic support, managing caseloads and measuring outcomes to improve support mechanisms.

The Level 3 Certificate in Social Prescribing qualification covers the following 4 mandatory units:

Training Course Content
- Day 1 Induction (Half Day)
- Day 2 (The Principles and theory of Social Prescribing)
- Day 3 (Structures and Cultures within communities)
- Day 4 (Delivering community-based solutions through social prescribing)
- Day 5 (Managing caseloads within a social prescribing environment)
- Day 6 (Working with vulnerable adults to provide holistic support)
- Day 7 (Motivational interviewing skills to support vulnerable adults)
- Day 8 (Measuring outcomes and improving support mechanisms)
- Day 9 Portfolio workshop and final sign off (Half Day)
Course delivery details
This qualification takes 7-9 months to complete and is delivered through classroom-based teaching days, online e-portfolio, independent study and assessment of learning. The full qualification is awarded once all units and coursework are completed and passed.
Each monthly, we host a full day's training, which includes a morning session devoted to teaching and learning the subject topic, with the afternoon given over to an Action Learning Set. This allows guest speakers, tutorials on work to be completed, and learner case study presentations to explore best practice.
