Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS)
This Site Management Safety Training Scheme course is a qualification created by the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) to establish a clear industry-wide standard for managing health and safety on construction sites. The qualification is part of the more comprehensive Site Safety Plus scheme.
As a construction site manager, project manager, or supervisor, you have a legal duty to ensure the safety and health of fellow workers and the public.
There are construction health and safety regulations to which you must adhere. Within your senior role, you also have a moral duty to do all possible to prevent construction site accidents and injuries. Site management safety training is a necessity and a requirement. Attending and completing the CITB SMSTS course shows you comply with these laws and regulations.

Who should attend?
SMSTS training is ideal if you are in a position of responsibility within the construction industry. The training targets construction workers such as site managers and proprietors of construction companies, project managers, and supervisors.
SMSTS Course Requirements
You will be required to attend all five days of the SMSTS course. With total attendance, the examination body (CITB) will award the certificate. You must clearly understand the principal elements and pass the core exercises to prove your competence. You will be required to sit a CITB examination at the end of the training.
