Course description
This course will prepare you for the next step in the development of your career as a counselor, if you completed the Level 2 counselling programme. This programme combines the skills from the Level 2 programme with various theoretical approaches that underpin counselling and psychotherapy. Important components of the course are: Working with various mental health conditions; Studying the role of ethics in counseling; Working in an agency setting; The role of diversity in counselling.
Assessment includes: Internal assessment (tutor led, self and peer assessment); External assessment (final exam). After completion of this course, you will have a range of options for further study such as diploma, degree or masters levels. All of these qualify you to practise.

Suitability - Who should attend?
Students need to have completed our Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body (CPCAB) Certificate Level 2 Counselling Skills course to apply for this course. Alternatively, you need to have completed another recognised Level 2 counselling course usually of 90 hours or more.
