Course description
LNG Bunkers is an online training course that will provide insight into the rapidly evolving global LNG bunker market. Since the end of the coal era, marine vessels have historically used various types of fuel oil as a power source. Changing environmental regulations and increasing concerns regarding the use of high sulfur fuels are prompting ship owners and vessel operators to consider switching to cleaner burning LNG as a fuel source. This switch will occur over time and will take place in the new build vessel market and through vessel retrofits. LNG is not the only option available to vessel owners. The use of lower sulfur fuels or the installation of scrubbers are other possible strategies to reduce emissions. Each has their own positives and negatives.
