Introduction

The EU AI Act (‘the AI Act’), which came into force in August 2024 is likely to revolutionise the global market for artificial intelligence.

The Act is a world first holistic regulation on AI, with a very wide scope.

As the first AI Act obligations, related to unacceptable AI use, with severe financial penalties, are due to come into force in February 2025 (with more to come into force systematically over the next 18 months), it is high time to start compliance projects to ensure compliance with this complex regulation.

Most companies are struggling with how to begin the process, as there are not enough official guidelines at present.

The session will explore AI qualification principles under the AI Act, AI risk qualification and compliance vehicles for recognized AI systems categories.

As a result, you will be able to efficiently align your organisation with the Artificial Intelligence Act.

This session is relevant to businesses in the UK that develop or deploy an AI system that is used in the EU, who will need to comply with the AI Act as well as those in the EU.

It is suitable for in-house lawyers, compliance staff, procurement specialists and directors, IT managers and directors, security officers and business experts.
