Course description

This virtual classroom seminar will provide an introduction to homelessness and the Housing Act.


The aim is to elucidate Part 7 of the Housing Act 1996, referring to the statutory provisions within Part 7, key concepts and some important cases. The session will cover applications, the definition of homelessness, suitability, vulnerability, intentionality and remedies.


The session is aimed at housing law practitioners who want to refresh their knowledge of homelessness, new practitioners who want an overview of Part 7 and those who want to consider recent cases or ask about strategy in homelessness applications.
