Course description
Exchange of property contracts takes place when both parties are ready to progress to the final stage. It is probably the most important part of the conveyancing process, after which a completion date is agreed, and the contract becomes legally binding.
However, the way property contracts are exchanged is changing. The Law Society proposes to introduce a new code for signing and exchanging property contracts that would work for conveyancers, firms and clients.
In this webinar, Legal Director at Ellisons Solicitors, Charlene Boyaram, provides an overview of the new code. Charlene will discuss the seven main aspects of the draft code, its advantages and disadvantages, when it may come into action, and more.
