HMRC investigations are on the increase. They are using their new powers and information gathering capacity to target those investigations more effectively and have upped the penalties that they are looking to charge.


Presented by expert speaker Jeremy Mindell, this in-person seminar will explore agents’ responsibilities in dealing with HMRC outside the investigatory framework. This is an area of increasing interest not only to HMRC but also the bodies which regulate accountants and tax professionals.


Topics to be covered in the seminar include differentiating formal and informal investigations, dealing with the initial enquiry, time limits and discovery assessments, taxpayers’ rights and tactics, settling the investigation, and more.
