Course description
World Fiscal Systems for Oil & Gas (Virtual Course)
Our flagship course explains all governments' fiscal approaches to the oil and gas projects and their impact on state's, investor's and national company's economics. You will learn about all fiscal
concepts, like bonuses, rentals, royalties, income taxes, joint ventures and carried interests, windfall taxes, special resource taxes, IRR and R-factor features, and others. We will discuss concessions, production sharing contracts, profit sharing contracts, risk service contracts, and the recently introduced revenue sharing contracts.
We will explain government take around the world, gold-plating, progressivity, fiscal stability, local content and many other issues. You will learn why fiscal systems could fail to attract investments in exploration or increase oil and gas production from mature assets, and what are the key aspects of a sustainable petroleum fiscal regime. We will also explain why fiscal systems in many jurisdictions cannot adjust to the low oil and gas price environment.
The training will cover all recent global developments, emerging policy trends and special sessions on post-covid-19 and long-term petroleum industry perspectives. We will discuss the interaction of carbon capture, carbon taxation, the evolving hydrogen economy and other renewables with the petroleum industry.
