Course description
Legal Aspects of Brazilian Production Sharing Contracts (Public Course)
Brazil’s world class hydrocarbon resources continue to attract interest from global E&P companies. However attracting interest is only the first step in a long process. In order for
Brazil to be able to monetise these resources, it is also important to ensure that the regulatory regime, and the basis upon which the resources are to be developed, is properly structured. This two day Production Sharing Agreement Masterclass examines the history of the PSC, the successes and failures from other PSC jurisdictions around the world, the key issues being examined by potential investors, and the way in which a properly designed PSC can maximise benefits received by the State while attracting investment and development. The Masterclass examines the current PSC structures used in Brazil, the strengths and weaknesses identified to date, and the best way in which to ensure future success.
