NCFE CACHE Level 2 Award in Understanding Peer Support in A Learning Environment
What does this qualification cover?
This qualification is designed for any learner wishing to gain knowledge of peer support in a learning environment. They will also gain the skills needed to participate in a peer support relationship.
Who is it suitable for?
This qualification is suitable for learners aged 14 and above.
What are the entry requirements?
There are no specific prior skills/knowledge a learner must have for this qualification. However, learners may find it helpful if they’ve already achieved a Level 1 qualification.
Centres are responsible for ensuring that this qualification is appropriate for the age and ability of learners. They need to make sure that learners can fulfil the requirements of the learning outcomes and comply with the relevant literacy, numeracy and health and safety aspects of this qualification.
How is this qualification structured?
This qualification is made up of 2 mandatory units.
How is it assessed?
Internally assessed and externally quality assured portfolio of evidence.
Do you need to be working to take this qualification?
This is a knowledge only qualification. Work/industry placement experience is not required.
What related qualifications can you progress to?
It is anticipated that for the majority of learners progression will be to further vocational learning leading to an appropriate and relevant occupational qualification at Level 2 or above.
Learners may wish to progress to a Level 3 Mentoring or Coaching qualification or on to a Level 3 qualification in Education and Training.
Learners may also wish to progress onto the supporting and mentoring students in further and higher education T-Level occupational specialism.
