The strategies used by Lean6 Sigma give the ability for practical and rapid deployment of Lean Six Sigma methods, which result in sustainable and high impact improvements to processes.

Lean Six Sigma

Based on teamwork, cooperation and communication, Lean Six Sigma is designed to be a collaborative process that improves performance and efficiency. It puts Lean manufacturing and Lean enterprise together with Six Sigma processes to remove the eight types of waste:

  • Transportation
  • Inventory
  • Motion
  • Waiting
  • Over production
  • Over processing
  • Defects
  • Skills

Lean (developed at Toyota) focuses on process speed and waste elimination, whilst Six Sigma (developed at Motorola) aims to enhance quality through reduction of defects. A six sigma process is one in which 99.99966% of all opportunities to produce some feature of a part are statistically expected to be free of defects.

Lean Six Sigma Training

Training in Lean Six Sigma is based on a martial arts style belt system, where each level is denoted by a coloured belt. Beginning at White and moving through Yellow, Green, Black to Master Black Belts, the levels indicate the ability of the practitioner and what level of processes and projects they will be able to deal with.

To increase profitability, productivity and efficiency, design processes need to be improved, defects need to be reduced and products / services need to be available sooner. Customer loyalty and retention can be built by always working to provide better products and service, Using Lean Sigma Six will make these aims easier and more achievable by giving you the ability to use a methodology that was built on processes that are tried and tested in two major global manufacturers, Toyota and Motorola.
