Course description
This course focuses on developing Social Skills, independence in the home and introducing attributes needed for work. It also encourages and supports student progression to higher courses. This course enables individuals to function meaningfully, productively and as independently as possible in their communities. It provides an environment and a range of opportunities which students can develop.

On completion students progress to College: Skills for Work OCR/Certificate or Certificate / Diploma or Supported Internship. Outside College: Supported/Independent Living and/or Community Involvement and/or Adult Education. Students will participate in enterprise activities and have the opportunity to engage in work experience. This could be internally throughout the college or externally with selected employers.

An interest in becoming more independent and developing skills for independence. Suitability for the programme will be assesed both before joining and during the first four weeks of the course.
