Course description
The CACHE Level 2 Certificate - Introduction to Early Years Education and Care is a qualification that prepares you to work in a supervised capacity, with children and their families in a variety of settings and environments within the sector of Children's Services.
Candidates will undertake practical training in various childcare establishments and study core units in childcare. We will arrange for you to complete a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check, formally known as the CRB check, and this will be explained to you upon enrolment. To achieve the Certificate you must achieve a total of 33 credits. Throughout the qualification you will be expected to participate in a professional practice in a variety of settings in order to apply what you have learnt in a practical environment.
This qualification is a stepping stone towards the Level 3 Early Years Educator course which gives a licence to practice. Job roles include nursery/classroom/pre-school assistant and nanny.

Suitability - Who should attend?
Four GCSEs at grades D/3, to include English Language and Maths or you will have successfully passed a Level 1 course with Functional skills English and Maths. Successful interview and a satisfactory reference are required plus a DBS police check for the placement.
