Course description
This is a two year, part-time course in Engineering and provides the opportunity to develop knowledge and skills in the design, development and manufacture of engineering products and systems. The content of the course is intended to support those employed in engineering organisations either as an apprentice or trainee. Learning is achieved through the completion of projects and assignments based on realistic industrial based engineering scenarios. The Level 3 Diploma is equivalent to two A Levels and allows progression onto an part-time HNC/HND in Engineering.

Students are assessed during the course through assignments, projects, laboratory work and tests. The Project and Communications units will have elements of external assessment. On successful completion of this course students can progress to a Higher National Certificate or a Higher National Diploma Course in Engineering subject to meeting all entry criteria.

Suitability - Who should attend?
GCSE grade C/4 in Mathematics and Science and two other GCSEs grade C/4 including English Language, or a Level 2 Diploma in Engineering (Overall Grade: Merit); with Merits in the Mathematics and Science units. Satisfactory reference and interview.
