Course description
The Access to Higher Education Diploma - Media Studies is designed for adults (19+) who have been out of full time education for some time and are aiming to join university or higher education courses. The course is modular and therefore flexible enough to fit around your work and/or family commitments. Day time study is spread over two days and is approximately 12.5 hours of study per week.
The media route of the Access course will be a mixture of academic and practical options. Students will work on still photography and video production, producing a range of artefacts, including documentary and single camera drama. In addition, this work will be fully contextualised by relevant media and cultural theory.
Students can progress directly on to our own Foundation Degree in Media Skills or progress on to a wide range of courses in moving image, journalism, advertising, film and PR.
