Diver Medic Technician Training - 10-Day Course
TheIMCA Approved Diver Medic Technician Courseprovides participants with the skills, knowledge and the confidence to administer the Life Support techniques learnt during the training effectively and safely. Attendees will be taught how to assess the casualty promptly and provide resuscitative measures with up to date emergency first aid equipment.
This course will provide the attendees with IMCA approved DMT certification that is recognised internationally by the industry.

Suitability - Who should attend?
This training course is open to anyone, irrespective of their background and qualifications. However, IMCA-Recognised certificates shall only be issued to students who hold:
- An offshore qualification in diving, such as LSS, LST, Diving Supervisor, or Diver qualification recognised by IMCA (which is at an offshore grade)
- A valid diving medical approval as suitable to go under pressure in a chamber. Sports diving certificates are not acceptable.
Outcome / Qualification etc.
Successful candidates will receive the IMCA Diver Medic Technician certificate recognised by industry bodies worldwide. The certificate will be valid for two years at which point it can be renewed with a five-day refresher programme.
At the end of the course, delegates will be able to:
- Perform Basic Advanced Cardiac & Trauma Life Support.
- Understand the Medical, Legal & Ethical aspects of a DMT.
- Correct handling & assessing of patients with diving related injuries in a Hyperbaric Chamber.
Training Course Content
The course follows the IMCA-approved curriculum for the DMT qualification, including the following procedures:
- Basic Advanced Cardiac & Trauma Life Support.
- Medical, Legal & Ethical aspects of a DMT
- Handling & assessing of patients with diving related injuries in a Hyperbaric Chamber.

- 10-Day IMCA DMT Course
- Emergency Medic Manual
- KBAT DMT workbook
- First-Aid Certification
- Oxygen Provider Certification
- Local Hospital attendance for practical observation
