Role of the Managing Director
This intensive one-day course provides you with practical and pragmatic insight into the role and responsibilities of the managing director.
Whether you are newly appointed, or looking to improve your performance with a fresh perspective, this course will help you to focus on the core issues of authority, accountability and constraints of a managing director. It also explores the relationship between the managing director and the board, giving you insights into how the board's purpose and goals fit into the broader corporate strategy. You will also be given a unique opportunity to discuss and share your thoughts with peers, assess your current performance and plan your future development.
By the end of the programme, you will be fully conversant with your strategic responsibilities and have practical insights to contribute to the achievement of your organisation’s corporate goals.
“The facilities at the IoD, together with the course design enable cross-fertilisation of management techniques and styles. The opportunity to discuss issues in the context of the course is unique and a very valuable experience for both experienced directors and those on the threshold of that status. Post course networking has also proved an important feature, as delegates make contacts with others facing similar situations.” Chris Wilkins, Course Leader
