Course description
Role of the Chair
This interactive, practical course gives newly appointed and practising chairmen or women the opportunity to review the chair’s role in light of current legal requirements and good practice.
This 1-day programme has been specifically designed to provide you with essential introduction to the range of duties and roles that a chair has to fill. You will better understand the chair's influence over the board and gain significant insight into current good practice, in terms of both boardroom procedures and corporate governance. You will also be given the opportunity to interact and discuss with fellow chairmen and women, extending your network and the knowledge needed to achieve a greater degree of competence in your role.
“I believe the IoD courses offer excellent value to delegates as they are always led by those who have practical experience at a senior level in the course subjects for which they are responsible and are themselves company directors. They can therefore relate first hand to the work of attendees and the problems with which they have to deal on a daily basis.” Francis J. Bergin, Course Leader
