Cables come in a wide variety of types and sizes, and can be made from many different materials. Selecting the right cable is important for the safety of an installation and to provide an efficient and effective electrical or communications system. Cable management systems are a series of components and systems used to support, protect and route cables from their source to where the power or information is needed, safely and securely.
This online course introduces the learner to the different types of cables used in electrical and telecommunications installations including DC applications and in addition provides information on the standards that apply to cables, the fire performance requirements, cable management systems and good cable installation practice that will ensure safe electrical installations
