Course description
Becoming and Incorporated Engineer
Times are changing and workplaces are becoming increasingly competitive. It is now more important than ever to consider the next steps in our career development, and how to achieve professional registration. This course aims to support candidates to achieve Incorporated Engineer (IEng) status.
The course is structured around the UK-SPEC and the IET’s IEng process and outlines what this process entails, why this route is important, the benefits of taking this route and what to expect in terms of a timescale and time commitments. Becoming registered as an IEng requires you to display a specific level of competence and commitment. The UK-SPEC have divided these into 5 clearly defined categories, A-E, and this course considers each category in terms of understanding the requirements of each competency, how to put them into practice and how to keep records of your development. The course also presents real-life case studies of each competency in practice.
The course also equips you for your competence review: the final step in becoming professionally registered. This course will guide you in what you should do once professional registration is achieved, such as undertaking CPD and perhaps considering your next steps in achieving Chartered Engineer (CEng) status.
