Course description
This course follows on from the Introduction to Digital Photography course and has been designed for people who want to take the next step with their digital camera as a creative tool. You will be given the opportunity to spend some "quality time" with your camera and also work on some Adobe Photoshop techniques with creative feedback from your tutor. By the end of the course you will be given the opportunity to explore the following: With your camera: greater understanding of your camera settings; Improving composition and image quality and variety of pictures taken; Adobe Photoshop; Image optimisation; Retouching techniques; Effective use of layers; Image manipulation. Students must have their own digital camera. Although you will be supplied with some tutor notes you should also bring along a card reader or the means to transfer images from the camera, a notepad and a pen to take notes.

Students must have a good knowledge of a PC and ideally access to a printer.
