PROFESSIONAL ACCOUNTING/TAX TECHNICIAN APPRENTICESHIP STANDARD: AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) works with around 130,000 members worldwide in more than 90 countries and supported by over 30,000 employers. AAT qualifications are universally respected and internationally recognised. Apprentices will complete two qualifications throughout the higher apprenticeship:- AAT Level 4 Professional Diploma in Accounting;- AAT Level 4 Diploma in Business Skills. AAT Level 4 Professional Diploma in Accounting:The AAT Professional Diploma in Accounting covers high-level accounting and finance topics and tasks. Learners will look at and become comfortable with a wide range of financial management skills and applications, and gain competencies in: drafting financial statements for limited companies; recommending accounting systems strategy; and constructing and presenting complex management accounting reports. Learners will also learn about specialist areas such as tax, auditing, credit management, and cash and treasury management. The duration of this Apprenticeship is approximately 18-24 months. This qualification comprises of four mandatory units and two specialist unitsThe mandatory units are: - Management Accounting: Budgeting; - Management Accounting: Decision and Control; - Financial Statements of Limited Companies; - Accounting Systems and Controls. The optional units are: Business Tax; Personal Tax.AAT Level 4 Diploma in Business Skills: Through completion of the Diploma in Business Skills learners will develop essential business skills for the working environment. These will include communication skills, commercial awareness, performance in a business environment and managing project finances.
