Course description
HAIR PROFESSIONAL APPRENTICESHIP STANDARD: Hairdressers will be able to shampoo and condition hair, cut hair using a range of techniques, style and finish hair to create variety of looks, and colour and lighten hair for ladies and men. You must be able to work with all hair types ranging from straight hair to very curly, wiry hair. You will also need to be able to carry out consultations with clients, demonstrate the professionalism, values, behaviours, communication skills and safe working practices associated with their role and be able to work without supervision to a high level of precision, with exceptional client care skills.You will typically have been on the apprenticeship programme for 18 months before being entered for the end-point assessment. The minimum duration for the apprenticeship programme is 12 months. You will be required to attend college 1 day a is is a Level 2 Apprenticeship.

Suitability - Who should attend?
A minimum of 5 GCSE’s Grade A*C including:•GCSE Maths Grade D/3 or Functional Skill in Maths Level 1•GCSE English Language Grade D/3 or Functional Skill in English Level 1It is advantageous to have had previous experience of working within the barbering or hairdressing industry.Working in a job role such as Junior Stylist for a minimum of 30hours per week.
