UAL Level 3 Diploma/Extended Diploma in Music Production-U3DMTF
The course is made up of the following units:
- Listening skills for musicians
- Musical composition
- Recording Techniques
- MIDI sequencing using Logic Pro X
- Sound creation and manipulation.
Suitability - Who should attend?
5 GCSEs grade 9-4 (grade A* - C) preferably including both English & maths or a relevant Level 2 qualification at merit or above. You will be invited for an interview and audition, plus prior experience of playing an instrument is desirable.
Who is the course for?
This course is for those who wish to continue to develop a career as a music technologist. An interest in sound and a love of music of all styles are pre-requisites of this course.

The aim is provide a good theoretical and practical understanding of music technology. This includes sound creation, sampling, music sequencing, recording techniques and sound operations.
You will collaborate with others to create (at least) an albums’ worth of material over the two years.
In addition to College attendance, students must be prepared to commit at least five hours study time per week.
Continuing Studies
Students can work as a sound engineer, studio technician, or move into an educational role.
Successful completion of this course can lead to higher education in the field of music and/or music technology.
