- handling data
Suitability - Who should attend?
There are no set entry requirements. When you enrol, you will be assessed for suitability and to agree the level you can study. Prior qualifications will be used where appropriate.
Who is the course for?
These are part-time courses suitable for adults (over 19 years old) that have been out of full-time education for some time. Functional Skills is for students who need to gain a solid understanding of the basic mathematical skills needed for further study, the workplace or everyday life. Everyday decisions are often based on mathematical information. Developing your maths skills will help you to make the best choices.

You will be expected to combine this with a further 2 hours of guided study a week on an online platform called Century. At the end of the course, you will take an exam. This will involve both non-calculator and calculator papers.
