Course description
Sustainability reporting is rapidly becoming a mainstream business and investment management activity representing a major global trend towards helping both reporting entities and external stakeholders, including investors, to better manage risks and take advantage of opportunities.
This course has been designed to describe the relevance and fundamental application of sustainability reporting and to discuss the adoption and application of the new global framework of the IFRS sustainability standards (ISSB). The new standard sits alongside and align with established financial reporting standards and can be expected to harmonize the disclosure of sustainability information.
Key Learning Outcomes
- Understand the role of sustainability (i.e. non-financial) reporting
- Explain the importance to stakeholders of sustainability related disclosures to allow them to assess risks and opportunities when making investment decisions
- Understand the background and application of the IFRS Foundation’s sustainability standards (ISSB)
