Course description
This course is a ‘toolkit of advanced nursing skills – delivered through medicine based case studies’, and is aimed at qualified veterinary nurses wanting to explore and challenge themselves so to provide their patients with a more diverse range of care. Both Gina and Nicola have gained Advance Diplomas in Veterinary Nursing and work for the Royal Veterinary College in the departments of internal medicine and oncology; in addition they have referral experience of endoscopy, wards nursing, critical care nursing and infection control, they are strong advocates for feline friendly practice. Together Gina and Nicola would like to share with the participants a number of skills, treatment plans and nursing methods relative to their specialised fields which will be discussed as case examples seen in both general practice and referral medicine. This course is designed not to teach nurses what they already know but give tools and information allow delegates to be reflective and proactive in delivering advanced care to their patients.
