Course description
This day will look at if, and how, management of the theatre area can have an impact on infection control and the care of our surgical patients. Discussion will involve risk factors for the suspected infectious case and for those using the area afterwards, along with care of the patient and the personnel within the theatre area and how to clean afterwards.
Theatre management will include design of the theatre area, best use of available space and equipment, along with the role of the nursing team in hygiene standards and infection control on a day to day basis for routine cases.
