Course description
In this course we will discuss the diagnostics of abdominal disease, including effusions such as ascites and abdominal bleeding. Pancreatitis and liver disease are responsible for many cases of abdominal disease and these common problems will be discussed. We will talk about diagnostic imaging, diagnostic sampling and sample handling and how to maximise diagnostic yield. The approach to managing cases presenting with acute abdominal disease will be covered, including a practical approach to rapid assessment on presentation.
