NCFE CACHE Level 3 Award Supporting Teaching and Learning
This qualification is part of the new suite of Supporting Teaching and Learning qualifications.
What does the qualification cover?
This qualification provides learners with an understanding of the knowledge needed when working directly with children and young people in a school or college environment. It will enable learners to gain an understanding of elements including children and young people’s development and safeguarding their welfare. However, it will not qualify you to work as a teaching assistant and will provide underpinning knowledge only.
Who is it suitable for?
This qualification is suitable for learners who are not yet working in a Level 3 school or college role but are able to achieve at this level. It is also suitable as initial training.
What are the entry requirements?
Learners must be at least 16 years old.
Experience in a real work environment
Learners do not need to be working or undertaking practical placements to take this qualification.
How is this qualification structured?
To achieve the Award the learner must complete 4 mandatory units.
How is it assessed?
This qualification is internally assessed.
How long does it take to complete?
The Award can usually be completed within 6 months.
What qualifications can you progress to?
The Level 3 Award enables progression to the Certificate and then the Diploma.
Which type of job roles can you apply for on completion?
This qualification provides the underpinning knowledge to work in a variety of job roles that support children and young people’s learning in schools or colleges. Roles this qualification will provide the underpinning knowledge for include:
• Teaching Assistant
• Learning Support Assistant
• Special Needs Assistant.
