Course description
This short course provides a foundation in hydraulics and an understanding of pumping systems with reference to water and wastewater treatment flow sheets.

On successful completion of this short course you will be able to:
- Identify and describe of the main characteristics of hydraulic systems,
- Analyse flow in pipes and open channels,
- Calculate hydraulic profiles through pipes, channels and unit processes,
- Explain the effects of flow variations through pipes, channels and water treatment works,
- Select and size appropriate pumps for different applications.
