Course description
This one-day course has been approved and accredited by IOSH. It is designed specifically for those on construction sites who have responsibility for managing all forms and manner of temporary works. It has been designed to provide middle management, senior management and others who engage with contractors, with the confidence, skills and abilities to effectively facilitate and manage performance on site.

Suitability - Who should attend?
This is an IOSH licensed course which is aimed at delegates who have a minimum qualification of SSSTS, SMSTS or appropriate degree.
Outcome / Qualification etc.
- Recognise high risk can occur on small as well as larger sites
- Understand that the essentials of good safety risk management, as outlined in BS5975, is relevant for projects of all sizes
- Understand the need for and duties of a Temporary Works Co-ordinator
- Understand the role of others
- Have a detailed knowledge and understanding of BS5975 in respect of this role
Training Course Content
Temporary works are usually safety and business-critical and require careful co-ordination. An acceptable way of achieving this is through the adoption of the management process outlined in BS5975 which introduces the Temporary Works Co-ordinator as a key figure.
