Gain a detailed insight into the regulatory landscape in Jersey, reviewing the key laws, rules and regulations with which funds must comply, as well as guidance issued by the local regulator.
You will learn about:
- the Jersey fund industry and the Jersey Financial Services Commission (JFSC)
- the Financial Services (Jersey) Law 1998 (the FS Law), including the Code of Practice for Fund Services Business
- the Jersey private funds (JPF) regime
- the Jersey public funds regime/regulatory consent under the Collective Investment Funds (Jersey) Law 1988 (the ‘CIF Law’)
- the Code of Practice for Certified Funds (part of the CIF Law)
- the CIF categories, including:
o expert funds
o eligible investor funds
o listed funds
o unclassified funds - recognised funds and unregulated funds
- the Guide to Jersey Open-Ended Unclassified Collective Investment Funds offered to the general public (the ‘OCIF Guide’) and the Collective Investment Funds (Certified Funds Prospectuses) (Jersey) Order 2012 (the ‘CFPO’)
- Alternative Investment Funds (Jersey) Regulations 2012
